CHUNCHULA, Ala. (WKRG) —
UPDATE 2:45 pm — Alabama State Troopers have identified the woman killed in the crash on Highway 45 in Chunchula.
Troopers say 29-year-old Kasey Elizabeth Anderson, from Eight Mile, was driving north in her 2003 Nissa Xterra when the vehicle left the road and overturned. Troopers say Anderson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and she was ejected from the vehicle. Troopers say she was pronounced dead on scene.
There was also a passenger in the car, Marcus Geral Ringer Jr. ,28, who was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
UPDATE 8:12 AM — Highway 45 reopens after fatal crash.
ORIGINAL STORY –Alabama State Troopers confirm at least one person is dead after a crash on Highway 45 in Chunchula. Both lanes of Highway 45 are blocked between Chunchula Georgetown Road and Chunchula Landfill Road. A medical helicopter was called but then cancelled.
