UPDATE: Troopers identify man killed in accident on Celeste Road

UPDATE (10:40pm) — Alabama state troopers have released the name of the man killed in the accident on Celeste Road. 

According to troopers, 68-year-old William Henry Reid  of Citronelle was driving south in a 2007 Cheverolet Silverado and hit, head-on, with a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Dorothy Dolan of Fruitdale.

Troopers say Reid, who was not using a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Dolan and a passenger in Reid’s vehicle, Ethel Stanley, 66, of Citronelle, were transported to University Hospital in Mobile for treatment. 

No further information is available as troopers continue to investigate. 

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) –Alabama state troopers are working a fatal two-vehicle accident in Mobile County on Celeste Road Thursday afternoon. 

The accident is located just north of Henry Davis Road where traffic is backed up, troopers saying it may be a while before they can clear the scene. 

Troopers are asking motorists to avoid the area and find an alternate route.
