Mobile County Sheriff’s Office issues news release on shooting in Citronelle.
Today, September 7, 2018, at approximately 10:30 am, Mobile County Sheriff’s Office responded to Prine Road in Citronelle to assist Citronelle Police with a Domestic Violence Call. MCSO arrived on the scene along with several other Law Enforcement from nearby agencies including Chief Shane Stringer with Satsuma Police Department. Chief Stringer was in the area when he heard the call come over the radio from Citronelle PD asking for assistance.
The suspect, 63 year old Ulman Jerald Roberts, broke into the home occupied by his estranged wife. His estranged wife fled the home and ran to a neighbor calling 911. Roberts then barricaded himself inside the home refusing to exit. Roberts began shooting and Law Enforcement on the scene returned fire striking the suspect. Roberts was airlifted to a local Hospital but later died from his injuries.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, 63-year old Ulman J. Roberts has been identified as the suspect shot by officers in Citronelle. He died from his injuries at University Hospital in Mobile.
Update 1:37 p.m.
According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office:
The suspect, who has a history of domestic violence, showed up with a gun at his estranged wife’s home. The estranged wife called for help. When Citronelle PD arrived, the suspect fired at police. Police returned fire, striking him “more than once.” The estranged wife was not harmed. No officers were injured.

CITRONELLE, Ala. (WKRG) – The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Citronelle Police this afternoon after an officer shot a suspect on Prine Road. The Mobile Sheriff’s Office has confirmed a suspect was shot twice by a Citronelle Police Officer. There is no word on what led to that shooting.
