UPDATE: MPD says 49-year-old suspect seriously hurt after forcing his way into victim’s home

A news release from MPD:  

On Friday, March 15, 2019 at approximately 9:30 p.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Lucille Street in reference to one shot multiple times. Upon arrival, police observed the 19-year-old victim standing in the middle of the street with a minor cut to his neck. Another person, a 49-year-old male, was lying on the floor inside the residence with multiple gunshot wounds. The 49-year-old male was transported to the hospital with possible serious injuries.

Further investigation determined that the 49 year old forced his way into the victim’s residence, threatened him and swung his knife at the victim.

Once released from the hospital, the 49-year-old male, who is in stable condition, will be transported to Metro Jail and charged with burglary first degree and assault second degree.


A man hurt in the Lucille Street incident is being treated for life-threatening injuries.  Message from MFRD Spokesman Steven Millhouse:

MFRD responded to 1100 block of Lucille Street at approximately 21:32 hours. A 49-year old, white, male patient was treated for multiple gunshot wounds and transported to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.


MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police are on the scene where one person was shot and another stabbed on Lucille Street, Mobile Fire-Rescue confirms.

However, Mobile Police say no one had been stabbed. 

Mobile Fire-Rescue says a 49-year-old white male was shot 4 times and taken to University Hospital. He was conscious at the time of transport. 

Mobile Police says a person of interest is in their custody.

This shooting and the shooting on Dauphin Island Parkway are not related, police on scene report.
