UPDATE: MPD needs help identifying suspect in Waffle House customer robbery

UPDATE (3:10 p.m.) — The Mobile Police Department is asking for help identifying the suspect in connection to the Waffle House robbery that happened Friday morning on Moffett Road. 

If you recognize the man (right) in the photo below, shown wearing a blue long sleeved shirt, please call Mobile Police at 251-208-7211. 

UPDATE: (10:30 a.m.) — Mobile Police say it was a customer who was robbed inside the Waffle House. Police say a man walked into the Waffle House, pointed a gun at a customer, and demanded money. The man then ran out of the store. He did not steal money from the restaurant. 

Police say this crime does not seem to be connected to any of the other Waffle House robberies in the area.

UPDATE: (4:35 am) — Police say the suspect ran away into the neighborhood across the street following the robbery. Officers are canvassing the neighborhood searching for the suspect. 

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Police are responding to a robbery call at a Waffle House on Moffett Road, near the intersection of Moffett and University. It happened at 4:00 a.m. This is a developing story.
