MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — (UPDATE 2:05 p.m.)
Mobile Police have identified the man who was killed Friday morning in a shooting that happened on St. Stephens Road. He has been identified as Tito Smith. He was 42.
News 5 spoke exclusively to his family Friday afternoon.
His step father, Robert MItchell, says Smith leaves behind four children, was a humble man and went to church.
He also has a message for Smith’s killer. “To the person who did this they need to come forth and come clean. I forgive you for what you’ve done. I have no grudge against you. I love my son. I’m a mad of god and I love everybody. I hate the situation that happened. They really need to put these guns down.”

(UPDATE 8:44am) – Mobile Police confirm that the shooting was a homicide. At around 1:30 Friday morning, police responded to Phat Tuesdays, a sports bar on St. Stephens Road. When officers go there, they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital, but police say he is dead. Mobile Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
(UPDATE 8:05am)- According to the Mobile County Crime map, the shooting is being considered a homicide. This is a developing story, and will be updated as more information comes in.
One person was shot early Friday morning at a sports bar on St. Stephens Rd. in Mobile.
Mobile Fire-Rescue confirms a man was rushed to University Hospital.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. at Sports Bar and Grill at 1608 St. Stephens Rd.
