UPDATE: (6:33 am) Mobile Fire-Rescue has offered an update from this morning’s fire.
At approximately 04:39 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department crews were dispatched to the 1500 block of Robert E Lee Street for reports of flames and smoke visible from a single story, residential structure. All occupants were able to safely evacuate the dwelling prior to MFRD arrival.
Fire personnel were able to successfully extinguish an interior fire without any reported injuries. Fire Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be accidental, stemming from a space heater which was stationed too closely to bedding.
Mobile Fire-Rescue has responded to an overnight fire in the 1550 block of Robert E. Lee Street. This is an active scene and we aren’t sure if anyone was hurt.
