UPDATE: MCPS says a 12-year-old student has been arrested for the threat. The boy has been charged with making Terroristic Threats and was taken to the Strickland Youth Center.
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile County Public School System, along with the Mobile Police Department, is investigating a threat made on social media against Causey Middle School.
MCPSS officials say they have identified the person of interest involved in the threat and police are questioning that person.
A warning circulating social media tells parents to not send their children to school Wednesday, January 16 after someone threatened to ‘shoot up Bernice Causey Middle School.’ The post says parents should know in order to not send their children to school. The post states the other threats ‘at the other school are arrested, but these people are copy cats.’
The school system says they will have police officers and resource officers on Causey’s campus Wednesday.
