MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Several police cruisers surrounded a crashed-out sedan at the intersection of Duval and Kellogg Streets, where police say a chase ended with a crash.
According to Mobile Police, officers tried to stop a stolen car on the I-65 beltway. The car did not stop, and police began to chase the car. The stolen car hit a tree, ending the chase.
Two minors who were in the car were detained. Police say the 15-year-old driver was taken to Strickland Youth Center and is charged with receiving stolen property 1st and attempting to elude police. Police say the teen could face more charges.
The passenger, also 15-years-old, was also taken to Strickland and is charged with attempting to elude police. Police say the charge is due to his attempt to bail from the vehicle and run away.
This marks the second time in just two days that teenagers were found in stolen vehicles.
