Saraland will open its safe house ahead of storms

SARALAND, Ala. (WKRG) — Due to the possibility of severe weather Thursday night the City of Saraland is opening its safe house for those needing a safe place to ride out the storm. It’s located on Celeste Road across from the Fire Department. It will open at 1:00 p.m.

Anyone needing to evacuate or in need of shelter needs to bring all medications and basic necessities, including water, food and bath needs for each person for at least 48 hours.

The shelter will not be able to accept pets of any kind, except for documented service animals, all other animals will not be allowed.
