MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Prichard Police Officer Simeon Beeson is continuing to recover at Mobile Infirmary. He sustained serious injuries to his ankle, neck, and head in an accident last week.

Officer Simeon was chasing James Buford when an officer responding as backup hit them both. Buford was killed.

Officer Beeson is expected to make a full recovery, but he will have to undergo months of rehab.

His wife said getting the call he was injured was like her worst nightmare coming true, but she wants the officer who hit her husband to know they’re not mad.

“I know he didn’t intentionally mean to and I don’t want him to beat himself up emotionally about it because I’m just glad that Simeon is still here,” said Mauria Beeson.

Officer Simeon’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses.
