Person of interest identified in deadly Dauphin St. fight

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Update:

Mobile Police say they have identified a person of interest in the deadly Dauphin Street fight that took place just before 3:00 A.M. Friday, November 16th. Police say they are not able to release the person of interest’s name until that person is arrested. Officers say the case is still an active homicide investigation.

Mobile Police say the man who died downtown near Boo Radley’s is identified as 38-year-old Caleb Hopkins. 

Police are investigating a bar fight that ended with a man losing his life.

According to Mobile Police, the incident happened just before 3:00 a.m. Friday at Boo Radley’s on Dauphin Street.Police say a man, identified as Hopkins, was punched in the face and then hit his head when he fell. Hopkins later died at a hospital. Boo Radley’s contacted News 5 to clarify that the fight happened on the street near their bar, not actually in their bar. 

Police have not released any of the names of the people involved.
