News 5 Investigates: Multiple have been killed over games in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police are still looking for the person who shot and killed Tito Smith, 42, at Phat Tuesday’s on St. Stephens Road on Friday morning.

The argument that led to the shooting was over a game of pool, according to the bar owner.

News 5 went through our records and there have been multiple people killed over games in the last year.

In March five people were shot on Dauphin Island Parkway. Two men were killed and an innocent bystander was injured. Prosecutors say the argument that led to the gunfire started over a game of dice.

Investigators say a $5 dice bet resulted in a string of retaliation shootings in April 2018. The shootings were on Basil Street, Driftwood Drive, and North Lafayette Street. Two men were killed in those shootings.
