Prichard, AL (WKRG) —  Neighbors say the juvenile shot Saturday night in Prichard was just a toddler and caught in the crossfire of domestic violence.

Along Mannie B. Turnbo Drive, sits a house at the end of the of cul de sac.  The front door glass looks freshly shattered, with bits of it on the ground. Neighbors say that’s where the suspect shot through the front door.

“It’s quiet, real quiet, I’ve been living here 25 years and it’s really quiet,” said neighbor Elias Mixon as he warmed up his car this morning.  “It’s shocking, you normally don’t hear that around here.”  Neighbors say the suspect shot through the front door.  They say he shot the young woman who lives there but also at least one bullet also hit the woman’s son.  The young man described as toddler died from the gunfire.

Neighbors say this started as a domestic situation.  They say it was a fight between the woman and a man.  The man was booked into Mobile Metro Jail early Sunday morning.  Neighbors say it’s a heartbreaking loss. One neighbor telling me the gunman realized what happened, felt remorse for shooting the child but by then it couldn’t be undone.

Prichard Police still haven’t formally identified the child who died nor the mother who was injured.  22-year-old Damion Tamorius Little was booked into Mobile Metro Jail early Sunday morning on several charges including murder and attempted murder.
