MPD: 142 school zone citations issued on first day of school in Mobile County

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Police issued more than a hundred citations to drivers in school zones on the first day of school in Mobile County.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers issued a total of 142 citations, 46 of which were for speeding, on Monday.

The roads around Cranford Burns Middle school had the highest number of speeding citations, followed by the area around Calloway-Smith Middle School, police said.

Police are urging all drivers to slow down in school zones.
