MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man has pleaded guilty to shooting a man and setting a vehicle on fire with the man still inside.
The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office says Jesse Lane shot and killed Lumumba Green Halloween night in 2016.
Green’s body was found burned inside a car on Dekalb and Colbert Streets in the Alabama Village area in Prichard. His body was burned so severely that investigators could only identify him through dental records. Investigators believe the murder took place in Mobile.
Lane was sentenced to 20 years for the murder.
Today, Jesse Lane pled GUILTY to the MURDER of Lumumba Green in 2016. The defendant shot the victim and set a vehicle on fire that contained the victim’s body.
