Car to car shooting puts one in hospital, Mobile Infirmary on brief lockdown

UPDATE (4:21 p.m. 11/11/21): Mobile Police confirmed that a 19-year-old was shot in his car while driving on Springhill Ave.

When police arrived at Infirmary Drive at about 11:11 a.m. Thursday, they found him lying in the street. The man was shot in his chest and face area and was transported to Mobile Infirmary Hospital for life-threatening injury, according to a new release from the MPD.

Police determined the victim was driving west on Springhill Ave. when an unknown person pulled up in a car beside his and began firing into the vehicle.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police are investigating after a gunshot victim arrived at Mobile Infirmary in a personal vehicle.

Police have not yet confirmed the location of the shooting, but officers have responded to the area near 1700 Springhill Ave.

Mobile Infirmary was briefly on lockdown due to nearby police activity, according to an Infirmary Health representative. The lockdown lasted for about ten minutes and has been lifted.
