MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A teacher at O’Rourke Elementary School in Mobile County was arrested this week on a fugitive warrant out of Florida.
Melissa Bolton was booked into Metro Jail Monday afternoon. She was arrested at the school during school hours.
According to the school’s web page, Bolton is a 4th grade Reading & Language Arts teacher.
A school district spokesperson said the arrest was not connected to Bolton’s teaching role at the school. Bolton has been placed on leave.
Court documents show Bolton was wanted by the Escambia County (FL) Sheriff’s Office in a stalking case.
Records show Bolton is charged with a misdemeanor count of stalking/following/harassing/cyberstalking another person.
