Man charged with murder in Prichard Christmas party shooting

UPDATE (6:05 PM) — More information from officials reveal James Jr. was out on bond for a shooting incident earlier this year where he was accused of shooting into an occupied vehicle/building.

A motion was filed to revoke his bond for the murder of Jaheim Pugh.

The other victims involved in the shooting were identified.

UPDATE (4:37 PM) — Prichard police say James Lee James Jr. has been charged with murder.

UPDATE (3:44 PM 12/16/20) — James Lee James Jr., the person of interest in the murder of Jaheim Pugh, has turned himself into Prichard police for questioning.

UPDATE (4:31 PM) — Prichard Police identified Jaheim Oneal Pugh as the one fatally shot Sunday morning.

Two other victims of the shooting were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to police.

Officers say there is “no clear motive” as of right now but James Lee James Jr. is a person of interest as he is wanted for questioning. If you know of his whereabouts, please contact Prichard authorities.

PRICHARD, Ala. (WKRG) — A Christmas party near Rosedale Avenue ended in one dead and two others shot early Sunday morning, according to MCSO.

Prichard officers responded to the scene after a 5:28 a.m. shooting report was received.

MCSO Captain Paul Burch says no suspect is in custody at this time.
