SEMMES, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile County Public School System says a social media threat made against Mary G. Montgomery High School has been deemed “not viable”. MCPSS and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office worked together to identify the student who made the social media post on Sunday. Spokesperson Rena Phillips says MCPSS is taking disciplinary action against the student.

Phillips says MCPSS takes all threats seriously and appropriate actions are being taken to ensure the safety of MGM High School and the students and staff.

Classes will continue today as scheduled.

“As evident here, we act quickly in matters like this,” said Phillips. “We thank the MCSO for its assistance in solving this case yesterday.”
