Five students from Leflore Magnet High School are regional winners of a contest to promote abduction awareness among teenagers.
The peer-to-peer program invites teens to produce a 30 second public service announcement to raise awareness about sexual exploitation, abduction and trafficking.
Student team members Kendre Estell, DeAvis Kines, Damian McMillan, Maxwell Harness and Stephen Taldon will be presented with the South regional award during a ceremony at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning at Leflore High School.
The team will compete against four other regional winners for the state-wide prize.
Alabama Sen. Vivian Davis Figures provided funding for the schools in the south region to participate in the Kindervision ‘Greatest Save Teen PSA’ competition. Sen. Figures will present the South regional award.
