MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The City of Mobile is discussing future plans for Langan (Municipal) Park off Zeigler Blvd.
Mayor Sandy Stimpson and District 7 City Councilwoman Gina Gregory hosted a press conference Wednesday near the park pavilion with other city leaders.
Today I was joined by District 7 City Councilwoman Gina Gregory to discuss some of the ongoing and upcoming projects taking place in and around Langan Park. I know many Mobilians remember swimming, camping and fishing near Langan Lake when the City first purchased this “Municipal Park” decades ago.Mayor Sandy Stimpson
Using federal and local funding, we’re making an investment of over $45 million into Langan and the surrounding area that will allow us to significantly enhance the environment, recreational opportunities and the quality of life for citizens who use the park. Once Langan Park undergoes these renovations, visitors will see renovated pavilions, an upgraded amphitheater, new barbecue pits and a deeper lake that can accommodate smaller boats like kayaks, canoes and paddle boats.
WKRG News 5 streamed the meeting live on WKRG.com and Facebook.
