Grand Bay mother facing child endangerment charge claims she was sleepwalking

GRAND BAY, Ala. (WKRG) — A Grand Bay woman charged with child endangerment claims she was sleepwalking the entire time while her children were left alone inside the home, according to Bayou La Batre Police. 

Pamela Ballard, 34, was arrested after officers were called to her home at 4 am Tuesday by a family member who said three children were left home alone. According to police, by the time officers got to the home, Ballard had already arrived home but was under the influence of some substance. Officers later found meth. 

Ballard says she was sleepwalking and was in the yard the whole time, according to police.

Ballard is charged with public intoxication, child endangerment, and possession of a controlled substance.
