Mobile County

Mobile County, Ala. (WKRG) — Family and friends are gathering today to help raise money for a man seriously burned in a fire.  Lester Summerlin was hurt early this month in a house fire on Dauphin Island Parkway.

He is still being treated for serious burns.  A fundraiser is being held today at Patricia’s River Club on Dauphin Island Parkway in Theodore starting at 1 pm this afternoon.  They will have music, raffles, food, and other fun.

“He has lost everything in the fire. He is a long time member of our community and is a very nice man who would help anyone in need.  He has taken care of his parents for many yrs and his friends and family love and appreciate his sacrifices.  We all hope he recovers soon,” wrote Catherine Beasley in a Facebook message to News 5.  Summerlin’s family has started a GoFundMe to help with medical costs.
