UPDATE (2:35 p.m.): University Hospital officials say their price index is now working. You can find their price index here.
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — As of January 1, federal law now requires all hospitals to post a master list of services and their associated prices on their websites. It’s an effort in transparency to reduce the number or surprises you find on your hospital bill.
So where can you find these master pricing lists for hospitals in Mobile, Baldwin County, and Pensacola?
We were not able to find a pricing list on University Hospital’s website on Tuesday morning. Hospital officials released a statements saying, “It’s our understanding that the link for pricing is not working today because of an internet outage in the Washington area where our vendor is located. The new link, labeled ‘Price Index,’ was working on January 1, 2019. The link is available at the bottom of the home page for both hospitals and other departments of the health system.”
Here is a list of hospitals where we were able to find pricing lists:
- Infirmary Health (includes Mobile Infirmary, Thomas Hospital, North Baldwin Infirmary, and Atmore Community Hospital)
- South Baldwin Regional Medical Center
- Springhill Medical Center
- Providence Hospital
- Sacred Heart Pensacola
- Baptist Hospital
