MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – The man seriously hurt in a house fire on Dauphin Island is still in the hospital in serious condition.
Lester Summerlin’s family says he is in serious condition, and his burns are “very deep.” And say he is “in for a long haul.” Summerlin has burns to his hands, upper back, neck, whole left leg, and part of his right leg. He’s had some surgery but will need several more.
Summerlin’s family has started a GoFundMe to help with costs. They tell News 5 the home that burned down was their family homestead, their father built it in the 1950s, and Summerlin lived there alone. They say he lost everything in the fire.
