UPDATE (9:55 AM) — Mobile Fire-Rescue say a 50-year-old woman was treated at a local hospital for burn injuries and smoke inhalation after found motionless in front of the building on fire. She is reported to be in critical condition.

Firefighters arrived to the fire at around 5 in the morning at the Berkshire Arms Apartments on Seabreeze Ct. and it took 50 minutes to cease the flames, according to MFRD.

MFRD say thick black and grey smoke and heavy flames were visible from the roof.  

Search & rescue teams discovered no other occupants inside. Incident Command requested additional units and resources to the scene at 5:08 AM.  

No fire personnel were reported injured say MFRD. The cause of the incident remains under investigation. 

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — An early morning apartment fire broke out on Christmas day.

It is unclear at this time if there are any injuries or what started the fire.
