COVID concerns cancel Mobile Labor Day parade for 2nd year in a row

Mobile County

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — You’ll have to wait another year to catch candy and toilet paper in downtown Mobile. According to a Facebook comment by the AFL-CIO Southwest Alabama Labor Council, they, in their words, “decided to cancel the parade due to safety concerns related to Covid-19. We will be back in 2022.”

The 2020 parade was also canceled due to COVID concerns. The parade is traditionally known as the toilet paper parade where paper products donated by Kimberly Clark are thrown into the crowd.
