PRICHARD, Ala. (WKRG) — Over one hundred kids rolled away from ‘The Bright Spot’ in Prichard Tuesday evening with a brand new bike.
The ‘Bike Angels’ gave 125 bikes to kids of all ages. The group does it to promote health, happiness and to make sure every kid gets a Christmas gift.
Along with the kids and their patents, Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste and other community leaders attended.
The bikes were donated from various businesses like Academy Sports and Walmart.
“Yes the benefit is we’re giving to kids we can actually see. The kids are required to be present. We want to hug and let them know how important they are, how much we love them and Jesus is the reason for the season. So that’s the most important thing is giving away to the kids,” said Councilmen Lorenzo Martin of Prichard.
If you’re interested in getting a bike for your child next Christmas, call Mobile Community Action at the end of October.
