A burglary in Theodore caught on camera early Wednesday morning. The homeowners hope surveillance video helps Mobile Police catch the crook.

Two neighbors say they were hit by the same person burglarizing their cars. While he did not want to go on camera, the man we spoke to says the thief made off with more than a thousand dollars worth of tools.

Video shows what looks like a man breaking into a truck at a home on Rester Road in Theodore, but the truck wasn’t the crook’s first stop.

One homeowner told us, “My son’s truck was completely gutted.”

The homeowner says the burglar stole his son’s stereo and several tools. Pictures taken when they found the truck show the extent of the damage done before the thief moved on to the next target. The homeowner said, “After he stole from my son’s truck, he jumped my fence and went around my backyard and then got into my other shop and done that, I guess he brought everything out to the road and went across the other fence.”

Once the thief got over the fence, he stepped into frame of his second victim’s surveillance cameras. The crook walked around the truck with headphones stolen from his first stop around his neck before breaking in and stealing more tools. The homeowner tells us this isn’t the first time he was targeted. He said, “I’ve had two attempts, but they were successful this time.”

The two neighbors told News 5 they turned over the surveillance video to Mobile Police. If you have any information contact MPD.
