BREAKING: Second shootout suspect in custody

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) —

UPDATE 1:33 p.m.

Mobile Police tell News 5 32-year-old Tommy Goleman has been arrested near Bonefish Grill on Airport Blvd. News 5 is working to find out more information. 

UPDATE 12:41 p.m.

Mobile Police say homeowners should lock their homes and call 911 immediately if they see anything suspicious. They say the suspect, 32-year-old Tommy Goleman, was last seen wearing a long sleeve black t-shirt and blue pants or blue jeans in the west Mobile neighborhood near Girby Road. Police believe Goleman has a significant injury around his eye. 

Police are telling everyone in the area to protect themselves. 

Police are getting help from the Coast Guard with an aerial search.

UPDATE 11:05 am

Mobile Police say the Tommy Goleman, the suspect police believe shot at Police on Thursday night, is considered armed and dangerous. 

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 32-year-old Goleman. Police responded to Pronto Pawn at 4073 Government Boulevard in reference to a suspect at the location wanted on multiple arrest warrants. Upon arrival, officers spotted a black vehicle being driven by Tommy Goleman. Officer activated the blues and sirens and attempted to pull the vehicle over. Goleman sped off leading officers on a chase. Officers pursued the vehicle to the area of Holden Drive at Oak Ridge Avenue where he pulled into a driveway. Goleman and the front seat passenger both exited the vehicle. Goleman fired multiple gunshots at officers as he exited and fled. Officers returned fired and no one was injured. The passenger, identified as 32-year-old Antonio Nettles, was arrested as a short time later.

Police say, Goleman has active arrest warrants out of Baldwin County S.O. for Probation Violation, Escape 1st. Goleman is also wanted out of Bayou la Batre for Theft of Property 3rd and he also has an Inmate Advisor for Burglary 3rd.

Police are asking the public in the area of Knollwood Drive, Girby Road, Lloyds Lane, Hill Crest Road, Nevis Road and other surrounding areas to be on the lookout for Goleman.

Goleman should be considered armed and very dangerous. If Goleman is spotted call immediately (251)208-7211.

UPDATE 9:34 am

Public Safety Director James Barber tell News 5 Police are continuing their search for the other suspect, Tommy Goleman, on Blue Ridge Drive. Police believe Goleman shot at police Thursday night. 

UPDATE 8:15 am Friday, April 19

Antonio Nettles was booked into the Mobile Metro Jail around 4:00 a.m. According to the jail log he is being charged with attempt to elude. 

UPDATE Thursday, April 18 11:35 pm: Mobile Police have captured one of the suspects in the shootout with a Mobile officer. Antonio Nettles has been taken into police custody. 
Police will continue to search the area for the other suspect, Tommy Goleman. Police say they believe Goleman is the person who shot at a police officer. Police say Goleman should be considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 or Mobile Police if you see him. 

UPDATE 9:56 pm: Police have identified the suspects in the shoot-out with a Mobile officer. One of the suspects is Antonio Nettles. The other is an escapee from Baldwin County, named Tommy Goleman. One person is “detained” by police K9s in the woods, according to MPD. It is unclear if this person was at all involved in the shooting tonight. K9s got this person and now police are questioning them. K9s are out searching for the suspects. 

Mobile Police tried to stop a car they believed Goleman was in. Either one person or multiple in the car shot at officers from in the car near the corner of Holden and Oak Ridge. Officers fired back at suspects when shots were fired at them. Police say the suspects ran from the scene towards the west, all took off on foot. 

It’s also unclear if Tommy Goleman was in the car and if he is a suspect in this. Tommy Goldman is still not in custody. 

UPDATE 9:32 pm: One person is in custody, police are still trying to determine if he’s involved. They continue to search for at least one more suspect. Police say anyone near the area should remain in lockdown.  

UPDATE 8:47 pm: Mobile Police tell News 5 that the officer returned fire, but it’s unclear if the suspect is injured. Mobile Police warn the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. 

UPDATE: Mobile Police tell News 5 that the suspect is a white male in a dark shirt and is on foot. They believe he is still in the area near Oak Ridge and Holden. 

ORIGINAL STORY: Shots were fired Thursday night at a Mobile Police officer in Tillman’s Corner.

Mobile Police say no one was injured but there is still a large police presence in the area.

Police say the person who shot at the officer is on the run.

A neighbor tells News 5 that he heard at least 3 gun shots. He came outside and saw a lot of police on the scene.

When News 5 arrived on the scene several of the officers sped off.  Police told News 5’s crews to leave the area where this is happening because the scene is still not secure.
