Broussard’s Piano Gallery is presenting three star-studded events to benefit the restoration and mission of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Esteemed director, Mario Van Peebles, one of the most respected black film directors, is honored to help promote one of the oldest black episcopal churches in Alabama. The fundraising events will help revitalize The Episcopal Church of Good Shepherd. The church, is of course, the pride of the community.
Thursday (January 31) 7pm-10pm – An Evening with Mario Van Pebbles at Heron Lakes Country Club
Join us for an intimate evening with famed Actor/Director Mario Van Peebles. All proceeds from dinner will benefit the Historic Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. The oldest Black Episcopal Church in Alabama. A prime dinner will be followed by a presentation on the history of black film in the United States. There will also be opportunities for photos, meet and greet, and interviews. Mr. Van Peebles appears courtesy of Broussard’s Piano Gallery and Music Center. The oldest music business on the Gulf Coast. Proud to represent Viscount Church Organ company, and Schimmel Handcrafted German Artist pianos. As well as Baldwin, America’s favorite Piano.

Broussard’s Piano Gallery and Actor/Director Mario Van Peebles cordially invite you to attend a celebration and the dedication of our new Viscount Unico 300 Physis organ at The Historic Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Virtuoso Organist Christopher Powell will be our featured performer. Acclaimed as one of the finest young organists in the South. Juliard trained, Christopher brings a flair to the organ, mixed with precision and astounding musicality. Actor/Director Mario Van Peebles will be our master of ceremonies. Refreshments will be served following the concert, with a chance for a meet great with Mario and Christopher. Tickets are limited so don’t miss your chance.
Saturday (February 2) 7:30pm – Saenger Theatre Mobile – Broussard’s Piano Gallery presents the Gulf Coast Premiere of Mario Van Peebles’ “Armed”.

“Armed” is a 2018 action film written and directed by Mario Van Peebles. It stars Peebles and William Fichtner.
Chief (played by Pebbles), a U.S. Marshal born on the 4th of July, is left traumatized after leading undercover agents in a raid gone horribly wrong. Dismissed as insane by many, Chief is convinced that he was exposed to chemicals during the raid which are affecting his mind. Chief’s symptoms include the sensation of being surrounded by or covered in cockroaches. When he begins receiving visits from his old team member Jonesie, he fears that Jonesie’s anger and instability will bring harm to those around him.
