ALEA looking for driver after crash blocks road in Grand Bay for several hours

Mobile County

UPDATE 10:00 AM 3/23/19

Members of the Alabama Law Enforcement agency are looking for whoever was behind the wheel of a car that crashed early this morning on Potter Tract Road.  ALEA first got the call at about 12:50 Saturday morning.  They towed a black 1995 Acura Integra from the scene.  The driver was nowhere to be found.

A vehicle collided with a power pole early this morning.  The fallen utility pole shut down traffic around Potter Tract and Turkey Farm road for several hours before dawn Saturday morning.  The incident also caused localized power outages in the area.

Grand Bay, Ala. (WKRG) — An investigation is underway after a crash blocks an intersection in Grand Bay.  An early morning crash blocked Potter Tract Road at Turkey Farm Road.

News 5 Viewer April McLeod sent us these images.  She says the crash caused a power pole to fall across the roadway.  She says the crash happened hours ago and is also causing a power outage in the area.  The photos appear to show law enforcement vehicles on the scene.  We’ve reached out to ALEA and are waiting to hear back.

It’s not clear if anyone was hurt, how many vehicles may have been involved or what caused the crash.
