MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The man accused in Mobile’s first homicide of 2019 was in court Tuesday for a bond hearing.
Prosecutors say Jarante Williams and Jermaine Lee lived together on Athey Road and Williams was arguing with someone else when Lee tried to break it up. That’s when Williams shot and killed Lee, according to prosecutors.
According to witnesses, there were several children around when the shooting happened.
Prosecutors say Williams was on probation for an escape charge at the time of the murder.
He’s being held without bond for now. Williams will be back in court Wednesday morning for an arraignment.
