UPDATE (2:30 p.m.): Neighbors left flowers at spots around the home. Family members returned to the home in the daytime to mourn and share their memories.
“That they was definitely loved and will be missed and we just want to honor them right,” said Tylisha Williams’ godmother Shanicka Lewis. They say Williams was set to graduate from Fortis College this spring and, as a young mother, she was the life of the family.
“She was my life, she was my hype man she was my photographer, taking all my pictures she had a really humble spirit,” said Lewis. “It’s really unfair but we know for everything God has a reason and we don’t understand it but we’re praying for strength.”
UPDATE (12:02 p.m.): Family members have identified the young mother and her two children who died after a house fire. Tylisha Williams, 27, LeTerrance Mitchell Jr., 4, and Ty’Leah Mitchell, 2, were all killed early Monday morning.
UPDATE (8:32 a.m.): Officials have confirmed that the three people that died were a mother and her two children. The mother was a 27-year-old and the two kids were a 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
UPDATE (7:06 a.m.): A city spokesperson has confirmed three people are dead after a Prichard house fire. The two children and the woman who was originally taken to the hospital are the people who have died.
PRICHARD, Ala. (WKRG) — Firefighters with the Prichard Fire Department responded to a house fire on Hilltopper Road.
Firefighters were called to the home just after 5 a.m. Monday morning and were later assisted by firefighters from the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department.
WKRG News 5 spoke with witnesses at the scene who said two children and a woman were taken to the hospital. Officials confirmed that both children and a woman were treated for smoke inhalation.
Our crew said the home is heavily damaged. It is unknown what caused the fire. We will update this article when more information becomes available.
