UPDATE: Victims identified in murder case that spans two counties

Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks confirms to News 5 that the three people arrested late Sunday in Escambia County, Florida are booked in connection with the man found dead in Atmore earlier in the day.

News 5 has also learned the identities of the victims. Dalton Davis was the man found dead in the truck. Troy Boutwell is the man who was taken to the hospital.

WALNUT HILL, Fla. (WKRG) — Three people were booked into the Escambia County (FL) Jail Sunday night on homicide charges.

18-year-old Christopher James Logan Stacey, 37-year-old Christopher Alan Stacey, and 21-year-old Alexis Shiffner Cain were all booked after 8:30 p.m.

According to the jail site, the younger Stacey’s address is on Highway 164 in Walnut Hill. Earlier on Sunday, investigators with the Escambia County (FL) Sheriff’s Office had responded to that area in connection with two people found shot and dumped across the state line near Atmore.

The body of one victim was discovered in a truck that had been pushed into Brushy Creek. The other victim managed to crawl out of the truck and was spotted along the side of a road by someone driving through the area. That person was taken to a hospital. Both victims had been shot in the head.

News 5 is working to confirm if the three arrests Sunday evening in Florida are tied to the discovery in Atmore.
