MILLRY, Ala. (WKRG) A year-long probe by the State Bureau of Investigation led to an 11 count grand jury indictment and the arrest of 27-year-old Dalton Tate of Millry.
Now free on 100 thousand dollars bond, Tate is charged with four counts of sodomy, six counts of sexual abuse of a child and one count of enticing a child. “Makes you want to lock your kids up and throw the key and not let them come out of the house,” one woman told News 5.
In a town where everyone seems to know everyone else, no one we spoke with wanted to appear on camera. News of the arrest is hard to believe. “I heard about it this morning and saw his picture. He looks like a clean cut guy but you never know what goes on behind closed doors.”
Law enforcement sources tell News 5 Tate is affiliated with almost a dozen churches. His victim was a young boy at the time of the alleged abuse and is now an adult.
We did reach out to Tate, who is married and the father of two, about the allegations but so far have not gotten a response.
The Attorney Generals office will prosecute this case. Investigators believe there are more victims and ask anyone with information to call the State Bureau of Investigation at 334-637-0131.
