UPDATE March 26, 2021: Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks released a statement to WKRG News 5 about the identity of the victim.

On Friday, March 26 2021, at approximately 1:19 AM, the Atmore Police Department responded to a call in response to a pedestrian being hit by a Commercial Vehicle (Truck) owned by Billy Barnes Enterprises in Frisco City, Alabama around the 1700 block of South Main Street (AL-21).

APD officers arrived on scene and discovered the body of a male under the Commercial Vehicle’s trailer. The male was later identified as Clemente Terrance G. Sims, 31 years of age, from Iron City, Georgia. Sims was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Details of the traffic crash are pending due to the ongoing investigation.

ATMORE, Ala. (WKRG) – Atmore Police confirm a man has died following a crash early Friday morning near David’s Catfish House.

It happened after 1 a.m. Friday when an 18-wheeler struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was killed on impact.

More details are expected to be released today.
