Vince Gill is one of the most popular and most recorded singers of the past quarter-century. With 21 Grammy awards to his name and album sales in excess of 26 million, Gill will perform with his band at Mobile’s Saenger Theatre on November 4th, 2018. You may remember in 2013, Vince performed a fundraiser for the Mobile Rescue Mission that raised an estimated $200,000 for the organization near downtown.
In 1991, Vince Gill became a member of the Grand Ole Opry and in 2016 was invited to become an honorary member of the Eagles, filling the void that was left by the passing of Glenn Frey. Gill achieved his first breakthrough hit in 1990 with the single, “When I Call Your Name.” The song won the Country Music Association’s Single of the Year Award. Since then, he has won 17 additional CMA awards. In 1979, Vince Gill stepped into the national spotlight as the frontman for the band, Pure Prairie League. He is also the longest consecutive host of the CMA Awards show (1992 – 2003.)
