Happy Friday Eve!
Forecast headlines include; one more winter night, frost tonight, then turning back to fall weather this weekend.
We’re back in the upper 20s and low 30s tonight, and another Freeze Warning is in effect for all of the News 5 area except for our Mississippi Counties. This warning now includes coastal areas. Typically, you’d only get one Freeze Warning per season, but cloud cover last acted like a blanket and kept some spots above freezing.
Along with the freeze warning there is the possibility we wake up tomorrow to widespread frost across the area. Make sure you protect sensitive plants.
Also, make sure you dress in layers, don’t leave the pets out all night, and practice proper fire safety.
While tonight will be freezing for most, it will feel better than last night. That’s because the wind won’t be a strong. Instead of wind chills in the lower/middle 20s the winds tonight will be fairly calm.
Since tonight will be a light freeze, you shouldn’t need to worry about the pipes.
After a freezing start, we will warm up nicely tomorrow. By the afternoon we will be in the lower 60 with plenty of sun.
This will lead into a BEAUTIFUL weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday we will get lows close to 40 and afternoons in the upper 60s! It doesn’t get much better than that for mid to late fall!
As we move into Thanksgiving week, fall weather sticks with us. Mornings will be in the middle 40s, afternoon will be close to 70. Each day will bring sunny skies.
By Thanksgiving we are looking at more of the same, but at this time there will be a small chance for rain. We will continue to update that Thanksgiving Day forecast so stay tuned!
In the tropics everything is quiet.
