MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – Gulf Coast Ducks won’t be splashing in the Port City in 2019. Scott Tindle is the owner of Gulf Coast Ducks. He tells News 5 they’ve been unable to get insurance coverage for the duck boats in 2019, because of the deadly accident in Branson, Missouri, in July. Seventeen of the 31 passengers on board the duck boat died when the boat sank in a Missouri lake during a storm.

Tindle says Gulf Coast Ducks will continue to operate in the final six weeks of the year. The company will offer their normal daily tours and a specialty tour, the Polar Duck Express.
