Burglary suspect captured after jumping into creek in Bayou La Batre

BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Bayou La Batre Police Department arrested a home burglary suspect who tried to escape by jumping into a creek Friday morning.

Police say 21-year-old Bradley Dodd stole items from a home on University Road around 7 a.m. Then he ran away into the woods to avoid capture. By the time police caught up to him, Dodd jumped into a creek. He was captured a short time later.

Dodd is charged with burglary, breaking and entering, attempt to elude police and theft of property.
