UPDATE: (6:50 a.m.) According to Lillian Fire Department Chief Jim Ellis, the restaurant is a total loss. Agecies from across Baldwin County, including Daphne, Fairhope, Foley, and Magnolia Springs all assisted with the fire. No one was inside at the time of the fire, which started in the kitchen. Crews are expected to be investigating throughout the day.
UPDATE: (6:28 a.m.) The Elberta Fire Department assisted with the fire — they’ve offered an update in a Facebook post.
Highway 98 in Lillian is now open to a single lane of traffic. Please use caution due to there being multiple county fire units on scene. A massive mutual aid response involving Baldwin and Escambia Counties was required due to the amount of water and man power needed. Please consider volunteering for your local fire department. No experience needed.

LILLIAN, Ala. (WKRG) — Multiple agencies are responding to a fire at the Pirate’s Cantina Mexican Restaurant in Lillian. That’s along Highway 98 near the Alabama and Florida state line. According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, one lane of the highway is blocked as crews investigate.
