According to officials, alcohol was involved in a fight between Robert Leonard Callaway and his son Robert Lee Callaway that ended with the younger man shot in the head with a 357 magnum.

Officials say Monday night Robert Lee Callaway was banging on the wall of his father’s trailer making a ruckus.  The senior Callaway was angered and shot his son from inside his trailer.  The victim was airlifted to a hospital and is in stable condition.  Authorities recovered the weapon used in the crime.

Baldwin County Sheriff Huey Hoss Mack confirms Robert Callaway is the suspect in the Rosinton shooting.  “He is charged in the shooting of his son Robert Lee Calloway. Domestic in nature more info later today,” said Sheriff Mack in a Facebook message.  

UPDATE 4:05 AM 3/26/19

Just before 2 am Tuesday morning, 73-year-old Robert Callaway was booked into the Baldwin County Jail on charges of attempted murder and domestic violence.  The BCSO has not formally confirmed Callaway is the suspect in this shooting but his address is listed as a home in the same area as the shooting.  

We’ve reached out to the BCSO for more information and are waiting to hear back.  At this hour Callaway’s mugshot has not been published on the jail website portal.  At this time we do not have an update on the condition of the victim or what happened that led to the shooting.

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office confirms one person has been shot in Baldwin County Monday evening. 

The sheriff’s office says the shooting happened on the 21000 block of County Road 64 in the Rosinton Community. The sheriff’s office says the shooting was domestic related and the public is not in danger.

BCSO says one person has been detained. 

The sheriff’s office is asking people to avoid the area overnight as they continue to investigate.
