FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two people have been injured in a mobile home fire in Fairhope.

The Fairhope Fire Department was called around 2:15 Thursday afternoon at the Rezner mobile home park off Highway 181 between Gayfer Avenue and Moseley Road.

The two people who were injured were flown to University Hospital.

One witness tells News 5 she saw the home explode, and she says a woman and a man ran out of the home on fire themselves.

“We had to run over there and put her out,” said Meleeta Metzler. “We carried her across the street over here, and I had to wet a blanket and put it on her. The male ran out so we had to go get him too.”

The investigation has been handed over to the State Fire Marshall, so the cause of the flames has not yet been determined.
