VIDEO: Two guns stolen from unlocked Daphne vehicles

DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — More guns are on the street in Baldwin County after a weekend crime spree in Daphne.

Security camera video shows it all in black and white.  A figure approaches a car, checks the door handle and walks away. In his right hand, a gun is clearly shown.

“It is quite possible that he is strictly focusing on firearms,” says Sgt. Jason Vannnoy.  “You can see in the one video he has a pistol in his hand.”

Two guns reported stolen in Daphne over the weekend, taken from unlocked cars at St. Charles Village. The same person seen in the video suspected of also checking cars in Lake Forest and the Colonnade Apartments but no guns were reported stolen from those locations.  “At this point, he has already made it up to Lake Forest and he has that gun in his hand. It could be in the event that he is confronted he may have the intention of using it,” says Vannoy.

What may be so frustrating for law enforcement is the solution is so simple. Don’t leave valuables in your car and by all means, lock your doors.  “No telling how many vehicles were gone through but unfortunately now we have two more guns out on the street,” says Vannoy.
