DAPHNE, Ala (WKRG) You may think you’ve heard this story before but this time it’s a little different. This time all the doors were locked and still they became victims.
Crime scene photos show just two of the seven cars broken into Tuesday night. Windows smashed, purses taken but not from all of them.
“Two or three of them there actually wasn’t a purse in them but they still broke the window out,” says Sgt. Jason Vannoy with Daphne Police.
The cars were parked at Daphne Fit Boot Camp and Bay Pointe Dance Academy. “This person or group probably knows that those type of places number one, on a cold night everybody is going to be inside and a lot of times if you are going to a work out facility or a tanning bed or something like that, there’s a good possibility purses will be left in vehicles,” says Vannoy.
It’s happened before. Earlier this month in the same area security camera’s captured a white SUV after a smash and grab break-in January 10th. Police believe it may be connected with these latest break-ins.
