SPANISH FORT, Ala. (WKRG) — The long-awaited, much-anticipated container park “The Fort” is open in Spanish fort and it’s getting a thumbs up from some of the first customers.
“I was pretty excited for it,” says customer Matt McGowan. “It’s been pretty nice so far.”
Tacos, burgers and beer are just some of the offerings of almost a dozen eateries. “We are super excited about being here in Spanish Fort.” One of those, Soul Bowlz. “I think it’s going to be a destination. I really do,” says Johnny McElroy. “Games and other things to do, engagement areas is what I like to call it. I think it’s a great opportunity for the entire community.”
There are games, conversation areas, it’s pet and child-friendly. All of it located in the Town Center near the Bass Pro Shop off I-10.
“It’s good that they are finally doing something out here,” says customer Thomas Radoslovich. “Spanish Fort is pretty barren when it comes to actually have a place to go chill and it’s a good atmosphere especially for lunch. I want to try all the places out here, see how it goes.”
The Fort opens at 9 and closes at 8. Those times are subject to change depending on weather and the crowds.
