FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — People in Fairhope have the chance to weigh in today on the future of a beloved city landmark. The city of Fairhope is hosting a meeting to talk about what to do with the old Fairhope K-1 Center.
The building is located near the heart of downtown Fairhope. It has a great location but not a lot has been done with it in the last few years.
Today the city is hosting a meeting called “Fairhope K-1 Center: What Do You See?” That will be from 9 until noon at the Civic Center. According to a news release:
Citizens are invited to participate by bringing all ideas pertaining to the K-1 Center’s future. The discussion will be the first in a series of actions that will include a survey of voters.
The center closed in 2016. According to published reports, the city of Fairhope purchased the building last year. Now the big question is what will be done with it.
