DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — As the Coast Guard and other federal employees go yet another day without a paycheck, more companies on the Eastern Shore look for ways to help.

Prodisee Pantry held a private distribution Wednesday morning for anyone impacted by the shutdown. Executive Directo Dianne Servos says the pantry will continue to do so as the shutdown drags on. However, as their service population grows larger, the pantry will need extra donations to be able to continue providing food.

Meanwhile, Tyndall Federal Credit Union is hoping to help these families as well.

“We are offering a 0 percent loan to eligible applicants to get them through to their next paycheck,” said Regional Branch Manager Carolyn Nicholas.

Anyone with questions on how that loan works can call the bank at (251) 626-7434. The service is available at the bank’s Daphne, Spanish Fort and Mobile branches.

Other companies helping out federal employees include Sylvia’s restaurant, The Ruby Slipper, and more.
